The Zoological Survey of India is celebrating its 100th years this year. Established on 3rd December 1916 the ZSI worked to promote survey, exploration and research of rich life in “British Indian Empire”. Eventually, though the survey has developed into a major National Institution the functions and goals of the Institution remained unchanged. It functions as the guardian of the National Zoological Collections, Extensive and intensive field explorations and research and publications.On the Occasion of Turning 100 Commemorative stamps and Miniature Sheet on Zoological Survey of India were released. Set of two stamps is in denomination of Rs. 5 and Rs. 25. Depicting wild life of India was issued.
